PKR Poker Review
(Note: This poker room does not allow U.S. players)
PKR is a new player in the online poker market - running on privately developed software and not a part of any poker network - that brings with it an entirely new breed of 3D poker software like nothing currently available.
Never mind that it's a little slow, has a few bugs, and is monstrously resource intensive - it is just that good. Once you try it you will never want to play in another poker room again. For players wanting an “experience” - and who would rather play for the fun of the game than just to make money - there is no site that even comes close to PKR.
So that means PKR is attracting a lot of players who aren't particularly focused on poker skills and strategy. The net result: much softer competition at their tables. All graphics are displayed in real 3D and require a fairly new computer to work, but for those looking for the closest thing to playing in a real casino, there simply is no better software. The software offers unrivaled customization and very nice graphics.
PKR currently spreads Hold'em and Omaha in Limit, No-Limit and Pot-Limit form, as well as both multi- and single-table tournaments. The traffic volume is relatively low at the real-money tables, as well as in tournaments, but growing quickly. Real money player statistics as of February 2008 show 1,100 ring-game players during peak hours and 5,000 tournament players during peak hours.
